Mezzo-soprano and arts administrator Natasha Naik is a multifaceted and dynamic performer noted for the vocal warmth heard throughout her range. A passionate and committed storyteller, notable roles include Fenena in Nabucco with Opera Ithaca, Mad Margaret in Ruddigore with Cimarron Opera, Scribe/Maria Maddelena in Galileo Galilei (University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music MainStage), Dorabella in Così fan tutte (University of Oklahoma), of opera Natasha has performed in educational outreach tours, musical theatre, and Shakespeare. Though equally comfortable in dramatic and comedic roles, comedy will always hold a special place in her heart, as she first developed her taste for opera while performing in the works of Gilbert and Sullivan at Cimarron Opera Company.
Natasha recently concluded several years serving as Cimarron Opera’s Artistic Director, where she has worked as a performer, stage manager, props designer, stage director and camp director, in addition to her administrative work. Naik holds a Master of Music from the College-Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati and a Bachelor of Music (summa cum laude) from the University of Oklahoma.
