Our Story
Cincinnati Song Initiative’s first decade has seen dozens of concerts connect diverse audiences with world-class artists in communities throughout the country. Dedicated to the promotion and innovation of the intimate genre of song, CSI creates memorable experiences that welcome seasoned arts enthusiasts, curious newcomers, and everyone in between. Garnering national attention since its earliest days, CSI is a recipient of Ovation TV and Spectrum’s Stand for the Arts award, which recognizes organizations that empower the community, build strategic partnerships, drive engagement through volunteerism, and deliver creative programming.

The Three Branches of CSI
The Mainstage series features our flagship concerts at home in Cincinnati. Comprised of our various themed projects, concerts explore the vast song repertoire in expertly curated programs to maximize their educational value. Concerts could be centered around song from a specific country, a single poet, or an entire language, for example.
Unlike the Mainstage series, CSI Mobile features concerts that have no geographical boundaries. Our artists love bringing programs to friends, family, and new communities around the world in order to share the power of art song outside our Cincinnati home. CSI Mobile also includes residencies at educational institutions.
Our newest branch, CSI Digital engages a global audience with a diverse range of educational and entertaining content to help shine a light on the intimate world of song. Through innovative and varied online offerings, CSI Digital supports our mission to promote the song genre and help usher it fully into the twenty-first century.
