Amanda Raymond, originally from Maine, is a doctoral candidate at the University of Michigan, where she studies with Ana Maria Otamendi. Her previous employment was on the Piano Faculty at Radford University and as the organist at Blacksburg Presbyterian Church. She has enjoyed a diverse performing career ranging from solo recitals, concerto soloist engagements, orchestral work, collaborative recitals, and teaching. Amanda has won over a dozen piano competitions and has been the recipient of many music scholarships and awards. As a collaborative artist, she has performed with singers from the nation’s top institutions and programs such as the Metropolitan Opera Lindemann Young Artist Program, Juilliard, Washington National Opera, San Francisco Opera, Minnesota Opera, Merola Opera, Wolf Trap Opera, and Music Academy of the West. During her time in Maine, she worked with music organizations such as the Portland Symphony Orchestra, Opera Maine, Choral Art Society, Oratorio Chorale, and the University of Southern Maine. Amanda has held previous faculty positions at Virginia Tech, Ferrum College, and the Portland Conservatory of Music. Amanda holds performance degrees from the University of Cincinnati - College Conservatory of Music and the University of Southern Maine.
